           माणूस आशेवर जगतो, हे काही खोटं नाही. ही आशा, ही सकारात्मक वृत्तीच त्याला जगायला शिकवते. आता ज्याच्या अंतर्मनात आशेलाच स्थान नाही, त्याच्याविषयी न बोललेलंच बरं.

कमालीच्या अभावग्रस्त ती मोठी झालेली काही मुलं पुढंही का मोठी होतात अन् साऱ्या सुखसुविधा हातापायाशी लोळण घेत असलेल्या वातावरणात वाढलेली सगळीच मुलं का नाही पुढं आयुष्यात नाव काढत? कुणाचं योगदान राहात असावं त्यांच्या या जडणघडणीत? आईवडीलांनी प्रदान केलेली सुखासीनता की, बालपणापासून खूप अडीअडचणीत मातापित्यांचे हट्टेकट्टे पडलेले हात, उन्हातान्हात रापलेल्या चेहऱ्याकडे पहात त्यांच्या जीवनशैलीशी समांतर जगत ही मुलं स्वतःचं क्षितीज शोधत असतात.

त्यांना ही गरिबीची कोंडी फोडायची असते. शोधलं तर उत्तर सापडतं. त्यांचं आयुष्य मातापित्यांनी त्यांच्यापुढं पानं उकडून ठेवलेल्या पुस्तकाप्रमाणे ठेवलेलं असत. आज अंतराळ विश्वात आपल्या कार्यकर्तृत्वानं चकाकणारे, जगन्मान्य झालेलं नाव म्हणजे डॉ. के. सिवन.

               कैलाशवादिवू सीवन.... म्हणजेच आजचे डॉ. के. सिवन. भारतीय अंतराळ संशोधन संस्थेचे (इस्रो) आज ते प्रमुख आहेत, एवढं जरी सांगितलं तरी भारताने केलेले देशविदेशातल्या 104 उपग्रहाचे प्रक्षेपण, भारताची मंगळ मोहीम, चांद्रयान-1 आणि चांद्रयान-2 मोहीम आठवते. तामिळनाडूच्या कन्याकुमारी जिल्ह्यात नागरकोईल जवळच्या     सरक्कलविलई या लहानशा खेड्यात  हे के.

जन्मले  

 आईवडील सकाळ संध्याकाळ जमिनीच्या तुकड्यावर राबराब राबत. घरात दारिद्रय तर पाचवीलाच पूजलेलं. के. सिवन यांना एक भाऊ, दोन बहिणी. अर्ध अंग उघडे पडावं इतपतच अंगावर कपडे, पायाच चपलांचं नावच नको. या साया अभावग्रस्ततेत सोबतीला होता 

आजुबाजूचा निसर्ग आणि वर रात्रीला चांदणं भरलेलं आकाश. दिनचर्या ही अशीच. भल्या पहाटे उठून रात्री उरलेले तुकडे पोटात ढकलून सारेच्या सारे दूरवरच्या शेतात रस्ता तुडवत जात.

कुटुंबात शिक्षणाचा गंध कुणालाच नाही, पण ही पोरंही शेतात काम करून आपल्यासोबत राबतात. मात्र जोवर आपली मुलं चार बुकं शिकत नाही, तोवर त्यांना या परिस्थितीतून वाट काढता येणार नाही, हे वडिलांना दिसत होतं, पण मार्गच दिसत नव्हता. आईवडील अर्थात निरक्षरच. शिवाय, व्यवहारिक दृष्टीकोन असा की, पोरं शाळेत जातील, तर शेतात राबणारे हात कमी होतील. मग कशाला शाळाबिळा.

        

                   पण हे पोरं निघालं थोडं  हटृटीच.

गावातल्याच शाळेत जाणारी-येणारी मुलं पाहून अधूनमधून हा शाळेत जाण्याचं नाव काढत. मनात मुलांना शिकवायची खूप इच्छा असली, तरी लगेच वडिलांचे वटारलेले डोळे त्याच्यावर रोखले जात.

आपले सारेच हट्टी आईकडे करायचे असतात ही साऱ्याच मुलांची रीत. के.

सिवनही तीच भूणभूण लावत. अखेर या पोराच्या हट्टाला कंटाळून या गरीब मातापित्यांनी एकदाचं त्याला गावातल्याच सरकारी शाळेत घातलं, पण अट एकच, शाळा सुटल्यावर शेतावर यायचं आणि पडेल त्या कामाला जुंपायचं. तिथं माफी नाही. पोरगा आनंदला. गावातली सारीच पोरं कमीअधिक अशाच परिस्थितीतली, पण या पोराच्या डोळ्यात मात्र कमालीची 

जिज्ञासा आणि स्वप्नांची गर्दी. त्यांचे भाऊ आणि दोन बहिणी याच परिस्थितीमुळे अखेर निरक्षरच राहिली.

आज सर्वत्र इंग्रजी माध्यमाचं स्तोम माजलेलं असताना डॉ. के. सिवन यांचं मॅट्रिकपर्यंतचं सारं शिक्षण मातृभाषा तामिळीतूनच झालं, हे सांगूनही खरं वाटणार नाही. आता पुढं काय? पण पुढंही या पोराचा हट्ट कायमच, पण शिका आणि कमवा, हे सूत्र कायमच पाठीशी होतंच.

घरच्यांनी हो-नाही करत करतच त्यांना गावाजवळच्याच नागरकोईलच्या एस.टी.

हिंदू कॉलेजमध्ये पाठवलं, पण अट पुन्हा तीच. कॉलेज झालं की, पुन्हा मातीत राबायचं, काही केल्या मातीचं नातं सुटायला नको. या कॉलेजात गेल्यावर मात्र या पोराच्या ज्ञानपिपासूपणाला पंख फुटले आणि बघता बघता के. सिवन या कुटुंबातला पहिला ग्रॅज्युएट झाला. म्हणजे हा काय झाला बुवा, याची तोवरही या माता-पित्यांना काहीही जाणीव नव्हती, पण या गरीब मातापित्यांच्या डोळ्यात कौतुक ओथंबून आलं. चला, एक तर 

पोर शिकतोय ना, हेच समाधान. या परीक्षेत म्हणजे बी.एस्सी. (गणित) मध्ये के. सिवन यांनी शंभरपैकी शंभर मार्क घेतले आणि त्यांचं क्षितिज त्यांना स्पष्टपणे खुणावू लागलं. त्यांनी ठरवलं आता थांबायचं नाही. 1980 च्या सुमारास - त्यांनी मद्रास इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ

टेक्नॉलॉजी (एमआयटी) मध्ये जाण्याचं ठरवलं, पण प्रश्न फी भरण्याचा होता.

आजुबाजूच्यांनी समजावलं आणि मातापित्यांनाही वाटलं हे पोर शिकतंय तर आपण काही तरी केलं पाहिजे. त्यांनी आपल्या जमिनीचा काही भाग विकला आणि उधारउसनवारी करून त्याची सोय केली. या कॉलेजात जाताना कुठं या पोराच्या अंगावर पहिल्यांदा धोतर आलं आणि पायात चपला.

इंजिनीअरिंगची मास्टर्स डिग्री घेतल्यावर ते इथंच थांबले नाहीत आणि थांबणारही नव्हते.

   

        

        2014 मध्ये इस्रोच्या महत्त्वाच्या अशा लिक्विड प्रोपेल्शन सिस्टीमचे संचालक म्हणून त्यांना नियुक्त करण्यात आलं. अशा सर्व स्तरांवर आपली नाममुद्रा उमटवल्यावर 2018 मध्ये त्यांना इस्रोचे प्रमुख करण्यात आले. 15 जानेवारीला त्यांनी हा पदभार स्वीकारला.त्यानंतरचा त्यांचा सारा अंतराळ कारकिर्दीचा प्रवास आज आपल्या डोळ्यासमोर आहे. त्यांना | शाळेत शिकवणारे शिक्षक म्हणतात, 'सिवन सुरुवातीपासूनच खूप मेहनती होता. तो आम्हाला नाही नाही ते प्रश्न विचारून भंडावून सोडायचा. त्याला सतत नवीन नवीन काही तरी करून पाहण्याची जिज्ञासा लागून राहिलेली असे. म्हणूनच आज तो या उंचीवर पोहोचला.' आज ते 62 वर्षांचे असून इंडियन नॅशनल एकेडमी ऑफ इंजिनिअरिंग, एअरोनॉटिकल  

सोसायटी ऑफ इंडिया आणि सिस्टीम सोसायटी ऑफ इंडियाचे फेलो आहेत. आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तरावर अंतराळ विज्ञान त्यांच्या नावाला वेगळ वलय आहे. विक्रम साराभाई रिसर्च पुरस्कार (1999), इस्रो मेरिट अवार्ड 2007, डॉ.

बिरेन रॉय स्पेस सायन्स अवॉर्ड (2011), इंडियन इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ सायन्सकडून 2013 व 2018 मध्ये पुरस्कार, सत्यभामा विद्यापीठाची मानद डि.लिट. आणि तामिळनाडू सरकारकडून डॉ. ए.पी.जे. अब्दुल कलाम अॅवॉर्ड अगदी अलीकडेच त्यांना प्रदान करण्यात आलाय. एकदा माणसाचे कर्तृत्व फळफळायला लागलं की, सारे मानसन्मान त्याच्याकडे चालत येतात. म्हणूनच म्हणतात ना, अपयशाला मायबाप नसतात, पण यशाला हजारो मायबाप  असतात. 

गरिबीत कोणीही हुंगत नाही आणि भरभराटीत सारेच आवर्जून नातेसंबंध सांगायला कमी पडत नाहीत. अखेर काय तर, कर्तृत्ववानाला 'स्काय इज द लिमिट. '

 Why aren't all the children who have grown up in a state of extreme deprivation growing up in an environment where all the comforts are rolling in their hands and feet?  Whose contribution should have remained in their formation?  The happiness provided by the parents is that the children are looking for their own horizons by living in parallel with their lifestyle by looking at the stubborn hands of the parents who have been facing difficulties since childhood.

 They want to break the cycle of poverty.  If you search, you will find the answer.  His life would have been like a book that his parents had boiled in front of him.  In today's world of space, the name that shines through his activism is Dr.  K.  Seam

             

       

           Kailashwadivu Shiva .... that is, today's Dr.  K.  Shiva  Today, he is the head of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).  It is located in the small village of Sarkkalvilai near Nagercoil in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu

 Seeing the children coming and going to school in the village, from time to time he mentioned the name of going to school.  Though he had a strong desire to teach his children, his father's eyes were immediately fixed on him.

       It is the custom of all children to do all they want to their stubborn mother.  K.

  Sivan was doing the same.  Eventually, the poor parents, fed up with the boy's stubbornness, once sent him to a government school in the village, but the only condition was that after leaving school, he would come to the farm and start work.  There is no apology.  Porga rejoiced.  All the boys in the village are in more or less the same situation, but in the eyes of this boy, it is amazing 

Crowds of curiosity and dreams.  His brother and two sisters eventually became illiterate.

  Today, when the English medium is in full swing everywhere, Dr.  K.  It would not be true to say that Sivan's entire education up to matriculation was in his mother tongue Tamil.  What's next  But in the future, the stubbornness of this kid is always, but learn and earn, this formula was always backed up.

  Sent to Hindu College, but the condition is the same again.  After college, I want to work in the soil again, I don't want to lose my relationship with the soil.  After going to this college, however, the knowledge of this boy spread its wings and while looking at it, K.  Sivan became the first graduate of this family.  I mean, the parents weren't even aware of what had happened, but the poor parents were appreciative.  Come on, one 

Por is learning, that's the solution.  In this exam, B.Sc.  K in (Mathematics).  Sivan took a hundred marks out of a hundred and his horizons began to mark him clearly.  They decided not to wait any longer.  Around 1980 - he joined the Madras Institute

 Decided to go to Technology (MIT), but the question was to pay the fee.

 If the child learns that the people around him understood and the parents also felt that we should do something.  They sold some of their land and borrowed it.  While going to this college, for the first time, a dhoti came on this boy's body and he slipped on his feet.

 After taking a master's degree in engineering, he did not stop there.

          

             In 2014, he was appointed director of one of ISRO's most important liquid propulsion systems.  After making his mark at all such levels, he was made the head of ISRO in 2018.  He took office on January 15.

 His entire space career after that is before our eyes today.  Them |  The teacher at the school says, 'Sivan was very hardworking from the beginning.  He used to ask us if we didn't have it.  He was constantly curious to try something new.  That is why he has reached this height today. '  Today he is 62 years old and lives in Indian National Academy of Engineering, Aerocnautical.

He is a Fellow of the Society of India and the Systems Society of India.  Internationally, space science has a distinct ring to its name.  Vikram Sarabhai Research Award (1999), ISRO Merit Award 2007,   

Dr.  Biren Roy Space Science Award (2011), Award from Indian Institute of Science in 2013 and 2018, Honorary D.Litt. Of Satyabhama University.  And Dr. from the Government of Tamil Nadu.  A.P.J.  He was recently awarded the Abdul Kalam Award.  Once a man's deeds begin to bear fruit, all honors come to him.  That is why it is said that failure does not have parents, but success has thousands of parents

  Are.  No one swallows in poverty, and no one sighs in affluence.  After all, "The sky is the limit " for the performer.
