'Missile Man' #Abdul Kalam Sir

डॉ. एपीजे अब्दुल कलाम का पूरा नाम अवुल पकिर जैनुलाब्दीन अब्दुल कलाम था। उन्हें भारत के मिसाइल मैन और पीपुल्स प्रेसिडेंट के रूप में जाना जाता है। उनका जन्म एक गरीब तमिल मुस्लिम परिवार में 15 अक्टूबर 1931 को ब्रिटिश भारत (वर्तमान में रामनाथपुरम जिला, तमिलनाडु) के तहत मद्रास प्रेसीडेंसी के रामनाड जिले के रामेश्वरम में हुआ था।

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's full name was Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam.  He is known as the Missile Man and People's President of India.  He was born in a poor Tamil Muslim family on 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram in Ramnad district of Madras Presidency under British India (present-day Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu). He was a great scientist, who served the country as the 11th President of the country from 2002 to 2007.  After completing his presidential term, he returned to civilian life of writing, education and public service.  He held various key positions in ISRO and DRDO and then became the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India as a Cabinet Minister.

He has been conferred with honorary doctorates from at least 30 universities as well as the country's three highest civilian awards (Padma Bhushan 1981, Padma Vibhushan 1990 and Bharat Ratna 1997).  He was a great personality and inspiration for the youth of the country who breathed his last on 27 July 2015 at IIM, Meghalaya due to sudden cardiac arrest.

 He is not physically present among us but his great works and contributions will be with us forever.  He mentions his dream of making India a developed country in his book "India 2020-A Vision for the New Millennium".
